Is eternal-september a good news server?

What are the pros and cons in using it?

I usually use aioe but it seems to be down at the moment or they have
blocked me.

Dies much too often. It is free tho. But news.individual.net is only
10 euros a year, vastly more reliable and has no downsides.

Nar it was down for hours, and their web site too.

I don't like ones where you have to log in. Aioe has no login and if
you use from a no-log VPN, no one could trace your posts back to you.

be careful what you say then. :) but do you really think anyone would go
to the expense and trouble to sue over a usenet post? it's not like it's

It still lets you connect then, you just get an error when you try
to post. Aioe was down for a day. I just switched to
nntp.ausics.net. If the issue with posts missing has been fixed
there, I might swap over to using it and have Aioe as the backup,
it was noticably quicker and has infinite post retention now. Both
suit my purposes well enough though really.
