I put it on charge when I put the phone on charge. In the morning I pick
them up.

Yeah I suppose! And as Ian pointed out there are some stands that let
you charge watch and phone together.

It would be a come down from a device with 7 days life, but perhaps
that's not so significant. I'm half arguing myself towards a Garmin
(also 7 days) but their NFC payments don't work (most banks don't
support Fitbit either) and their software quality might not be great. So
the AW SE is actually cheaper and more functional...

If it matters, charging overnight does cut out the possibility of sleep
tracking using the watch.

My Xiaomi band is unobtrusive, seems to work fine with an iPhone (no NFC on
mine but things like calls and messages come through), cost about £20 and has
a 3 week+ battery life. Still after an Apple Watch though :-)

Which one have you got, I'm thinking of getting one for my wife, she
can't wear a conventional watch, they just stop dead. If a simple one
works I could think of upgrading it to an Apple watch for hr birthday.

I thought about this but also don’t really see a use for it in my case. I
would scratch the watch to hell, and it would be constantly saying “Yes,
you’re not getting enough sleep.”, “Look, you’ve been woken by a
sodding labrador again”, “Now you’ve been almost pushed out of bed by a
semi-beagle, what the -hell-?”, “I give up, your lifestyle is
incompatible with sleep”....

.....and other such ‘helpful’ insights.

Cheers,
Ian

Absolutely - I can see how tracking sleep to monitor a lack of sleep can
become a self-fulfilling path to misery.

I /think/ I'm OK with it, and the deep/light sleep stats are quite

Yeah, you can do a bit of juggling where you charge the watch morning
and evening during your bathroom+bed prep routine. If your routine is
long enough (like an hour total) it provides enough charge. I did that
for a week while experimenting.

From how nospam responded - by getting wrong fundamentals of the operating
system and so on - he has never studied a resource demanding problem. Otherwise
he would have understood the requirements!

nospam is just thrilled that F. Russell is on the other end. Imagine if
nospam walked up to a lobster and delivered the punch line. It wouldn't be
rewarding. But nospam feels the need to mock the herd.

nospam writes all kinds of drivel, don't use that blockhead as a reference.
Translation of nospam speak: nospam's amazing "debugging mastery" side tracked
him from a component he insists does not exists that does exist on this software.

Had a girlfriend once who affected watches similarly. I lent her my,
previously working fine, swatch and within a couple of weeks IIRC it
stopped working. I was with her most of the time and there was nothing
unusual in how she treated it.

Always seems to be the female of the species, at least I've never come
