All he has done so far is play U-19 cricket for England, That does not preclude him m switching to the Windies.

Already his contribution to English and international cricket has been very positive.
He lives and was brought up and educated and learned his cricket in England.
Bethell didn't choose to play for England U19, he was selected to play by England U19.

How have you contributed to English cricket?

I would feel differently about the SA players drafted in to play in
the U19 world cup. Apart from the fact that they haven't contributed
(Cox had 111 and some catches) any more that I would have expected the
' non travelling reserves' to have done.
U19 cricket is a very narrow window of opportunity and this SA
'passport scouting' from Ireland is making it more narrow for the
lads who have squeezed their way through the Irish system into
contention only to be usurped by a player who an assistant coach and
national partisan has flagged.

Whenever you see an age group national team where some of the players
'home clubs' are actually foreign grammar schools then that's a red
flag that CI need to address.
