Socialism doesn't not want to see the means of production in govt hands.

In fact hardly any of the means of production is in govt hands anymore
even in the countrys with much more socialism than usual. Hardly any
have govt airlines anymore, let alone govt car manufacturing or
agriculture.

Even the rant about subscription is mindless bullshit and is a bare faced
lie with books most obviously. And certainly doesnt apply to what most of
us spend most of our outgoings on, houses, cars, food, savings etc etc etc.

Most of us are in fact NOT getting poorer.

Even lie that 'the workers' end up with very little wealth is just
more mindless bullshit. The wealth almost all ends up in pension
funds whose assets are owned by the workers, stupid.

The claim that workers can't afford to pay for the goods they make
is even more utterly mindless pig ignorant bullshit. Same with
services too.

"dropping $500 in one go is not in most people's reach"
is just more utterly mindless bullshit, most obviously
with smartphones, appliances, cars or even holidays.

BULLSHIT. Socialists in western europe have in fact wound back
what means of production in public hands they once had almost
entirely and NONE of them have public hands doing the manufacturing
of cars, planes, steel etc anymore. Most don't even have their postal
service or phone service in public hands anymore.

They still do have most of their schools, roads, cops, legal system
etc in public hands and most do have most of their health care
service in public hands.

You don't get to redefine socialism any particular way you fancy to
support your self manufactured hard capitalist strawmen viewpoints. Nor
do you get to tell other people what they actually think about such
ideologies.

You are correct up to the point of stating that a certain mild
capitalist version of socialism that is present in some European
countries, namely social democracy has wound back public ownership of
most type of manufacturing.
However you neglect to explain why and how that happens.
The countries you refer to are democracies which mean conservative
capitalist politicians take cyclically the place of social democrats in
successive governments...which means, the first thing they do when they
get into power is to *privatise*, *privatise*, *privatise". The
underlying econopolitical philosophy that drives the European Union is
neoliberalism and NOT socialism. And the resulting capitalist mess
clearly shows that as very gradually socialist achievements get eroded
away, just like they do the USA but at a lot slower pace. Europe has a
long-long way to go before it can degenerate into the kind of
corporate/plutocratic/neoliberal/anarcho-capitalist shitshow the USA is
at currently.

The fact is that the political left and that includes socialists too
represents a range of socio and econopolitical ideas and ideologies.
Socialism in itself also covers a wide spectrum of ideologies ranging
from centre left capitalist social democracy to far left communism.

Governments implementing any sort of social/community level measures
aren't necessarily socialists just because they are doing so, despite
your insistence of defining them as such. Anything short of fully
implemented anarcho-capitalist libertarianism still have to maintain
some sort of community level services like the military, central banking
and the government itself...all the rest is up for grabs by venture
capitalists...and that has bugger all to do with anything socialism in
any shape and form.

It would do you a lot of good if you were capable of open mindedness and
could learn from you better.

The only real exception is Norway with its oil
and gas and most of its electricity generation
