They call themselves Labor but all I can see is Liberal in Labor clothing and they have one main goal and that is to get re-elected. If they put as much effort into Governing as they do in rubbishing the former Libs they may be able to do a good job

They dont have the guts to do anything major on Power prices because they love the revenue they get from these companies. Honestly, it looks like Morrison is back in power....

So basically we have the left of the Libs in Power and the right of the Libs doing nothing but making fools of themselfs

As does any party that isn't actually completely stupid.

That isn't actually about effort.

Even sillier than you usually manage and that's saying something.

Surprise, surprise Labor is not a leftist party after all, but instead
it is slightly right of the current political centre.
Why are you so shocked?
As Australia's traditional rightwing parties have been drifting more and
more towards extremist social and econopolitical positions Labor had no
other choice but for follow them slowly the same direction in order to
remain electorally relevant. The alternate option of moving towards the
left instead by pursuing real reforms which could have benefited the
working class and the socially disadvantaged would not have gone down
well with the super wealthy corporate establishment, with the Murdoch
dominated media and the rightwing faction within Labor.

There is no simple way to solve the power crisis...it would require
basically strong-socialist measures like the re-nationalisation of the
whole sector, including many aspects of mining, power generation and
distribution and on tops price controls. Under the current political
climate in the country would you expect such measures to be executable
at all? Look, mate, I am a communist through and through but denying
political realities is not part of my belief system.

That is NOT true.
Morrison was just as happy with the status quo as his industrial mates
were. At least Labor realised the existence of the problem.
Their hands have been bound however as I explained above.
All they can do is some tinkering a little around the edges of the
problem which in fact are the shameless price gauging coupled to a
ruthless profiteering drive by the fossil fuel sector, the mining lobby
and the corporate magnates who dominate this industry.

The Left of the Libs, in your mind Labor, still means the political
right. That is the problem.
And, of course, the LNP and related creeps are quite happy with the
status quo...it makes these goons on that side of politics even
wealthier, so they would be fools wanting to change anything.

not as stupid policy wise as that fool Shorten.
