TLDR; To the N'th degree of Celsius[1], I'm absolutely not overstating
the situation.

Like news and the national lottery, the weather service is a form of
entertainment to be moaned about and shared. Tell a story of flurries in
the north, the south gets excited, and accountants joy in the deposits
on the balance sheet.

And then it all goes a bit Michael Fish, when the truth lands.

[1] scale Celsius, Press approved measure of cold unless hot[2]
[2] scale Fahrenheit, Press approved measure of hot unless cold[1]

I once heard ye can only have a real weather forecast if you paid a
serious wedge of money, and that the Gas Board were one of the customers
for that.

Just watched the local wether bod who, like all BBC use MeteoGroup and
yet he referred to a Met Office weather warning.
I suppose it must be financial that BBC don't use Met Office, but I
monitor both and Met Office are constantly more accurate where I live.

It's currently 26 degrees in this flat in York with the CH off and the
sun blasting through the bay window! There is blossom bursting out on a
tree opposite.

Beast from the East? Just more scare-mongering or did they get it
totally wrong?

The forecast did not suggest that snow would be this far south. Pretty
patchy here in Sarf Lunnon: mud, green and white patches.

Those daffydown dillies that are in flower have bowed down to the
ground. Those still in bud are still standing proud.

Hyacinths have been in flower for some time.

Met Office seem to have their main HQ in Exeter. Odd choice, though they do
have other places around the country.

Really bright sunshine and blue skies here but Baltic, -2 white

Balerno (just outside Edinburgh) Scotland.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/weather/forecast/in-Edinburgh,Scotland?loc=eyJsIjoiRWRpbmJ1cmdoIiwiciI6IlNjb3RsYW5kIiwiYyI6IlVuaXRlZCBLaW5nZG9tIiwiaSI6IkdCIiwiZyI6ImVuLWdiIiwieCI6Ii0zLjE4ODc4MTczODI4MTI1IiwieSI6IjU1Ljk1MDczNzY4MDI3ODQ4In0%3D&weadegreetype=C&ocid=winp1taskbar&day=1&cvid=7405f121464b4fa681f2fe7279049562
