I saw one of these yesterday in Bowral:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Super#/media/File:1947_Buick_Sedanette.jpg

Same colour, but without the side exhaust pipes, mirrors,
weather-shields and with nicer whitewalls. RHD drive too.

I must confess, it was a rather attractive car. A lot of others thought
the same. Parked on Bong Bong Street, it stopped (foot) traffic. Even my
partner thought it looked cool.

A Holden body model most likely.

Back in the day Holden, who were coach builders prior to 1948, used to
make right hand drive bodies for a lot of GM cars sold new in Australia,
and they continued to do so post 1948 when they became a car
manufacturing company in their own right. I can't tell you when they
eventually stopped, but they were still doing right hand drive
conversions on things like Chevy Impala's that were sold new in Australia.

They certainly stand out, but then lots of American iron of that era
did. It was the age of excess and when on right through the 1950's.
Things like Buicks and Chevs of the era were a bit too "fat" for my
tastes, although Fords of the day were quite nice. n my opinion Buicks
of the 1960's were the shit, and the 1963-65 Riviera was an awesome
looking car that just screamed "muscle".

A friend of my boss when I drove trucks had a couple of very nice
Buicks, one was a convertible and when one of the other drivers got
married the Buick was the bridal car, very nice looking machine.

I'd have any one of them today :)

The original 1964 GTO has always been a favourite of mine. The car that
started the 1960's muscle car era. They looked *great* and they still do
today. Lots of stuff from that era did. The original Mustang was a cool
car, and particularly in Fastback variety. The Hemi cuda was awesome.
The Chevelle, the Comaro. They all had something about them that made
people take notice.

Apart from the Corvette. It's the one US "muscle car" that I never
really liked, or at least once they brought out the C2 "wanker" variant
in the late 1960's. Prior to that they were pretty cool, with the early
to mid 60's models being the pick of them for mine.

> I did like the look of the Buick Electra 225 and the Pontiac Parisian.

Nice. They were pretty cool cruisers in their day.

But you weren't there, so according to can't know anything about it.

I do know you *didn't* have a PC in September 1981 as you claimed. I was
there *and* history proves nobody had one, yet.

Can you see it now, just born and looking up to see a 64 GTO go by as
people cheered. No, they weren't cheering him, just the car.

Lol!
Fraudster is such a genuine fan that he doesn't even know how to spell
'Camaro'.

Their hideousness? The crap engineering? The blinding sun reflecting off
their acres of chrome? (Note: This is not a problem in Dictoria). How
much road they're taking up? Their alarming attempts to corner?
