.... by any chance? He's commontating on the Saffers-Bangles game and
mentioned the Aus attack of Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood and Lyon as the
best you could possibly get.

Whilst that obviously raises questions about whether he's in the pay
of the NSW Abwehr, I'd point out that Nicholas is one of the silliest
commmontators there is, since he just smarms about hoping that people
will treat him as the former Test star he isn't, so it may just be the
usual empty-headed poppycock.

Cheers,

Mike

Idiots would disagree, but it looks like a pretty world class attack to me.

Of course he is. Worked for Nein for yonks, replaced Richie even. Being
surrounded by the Nein Nuckleheads made him sound good, and disguised the
fact that he was as vaucous as Brett Lee's face for at least 5 minutes.

Speaking of commontaters... In the recent Pak v Oz Test series we got quite
a lot of a 100%(ish) Qld comms team. T'was frequently AB, Roy and Kaspa.
Most enjoyable.

Pretty sure he was based at The Oval during the WI v Eng series recently.

It would have been a big ask to be based in Sinney for that series...

Note: I didn't opine that he was based in Sinney, only that he was a dyed
in the hair NSW lickspittle.

And rather odd to be at the home of Surrey County Cricket Club some
15-20 miles from the UK broadcaster's studios for a series taking
place in the Caribbean.

Cheers,

Assuming that's Kennington rather than Kensington, then it seems a very
unlikely place for him to be based for that series. (Or is there some
Oval in Australia that I'm unaware of?)

The Oval in London has had too many sponsors/names for me to recall, has it
ever been The Ovaltine Oval?

Tbf, he doesn't shout. That's about it though.

Aside: "hyperbolic"... That's a worldwide trend in sports comms. Every
player, at the very least, is a "star", and every game is a thrilling,
compelling etc clash of Titans. It's not just war where Truth is the first
casualty.

All sensible cricket followers just call it The Oval, whatever the
current sponsor might be. A few years ago, wasn't the Sheffield Shield
called something ridiculous like the Pura Milk Cup for a while? Also the
British women's athletics team were - perhaps still are - sponsored by
the company that makes Snicker chocolate bars, and were forced to
compete with "Snickers" emblazoned across their singlets, which I always
thought was rather unfortunate.

What would have been even more unfortunate would have been if the Chocolate

Yes, although they left out the "Milk" after the first season (of 9).
