Today is the second time this year I have been able to sit in my lounge
with a window open, and the CH off, listening to the bird song.

Very therapeutic.

Loads of daffodils are out. (What do you call white daffodils? We have a
lawnful.)

Soon be sitting in the garding with a bockle of cider or three.

Ain't life grand?

(When you can get it.)

The swift breeze and horizontal rain here are making me want to keep
the windows closed. There's nice blue sky from some angles thobut.

That swan hell of a lot of swans John! Where was this (roughly)?

And was it the swans making the noise? Most of the swans I ever met were
mute. They could hiss but that was about it. Cygnets were a bit more
vocal, but didn't see any there. It sounded more like geese.

The tundra swans stop-over here in south-western Ontario
to fuel-up for their long journey north - they seem to favour
flooded fields rather than lakes or rivers. < like the tundra ? >
They fly pretty high when they're putting the miles behind them -
big flocks in the VEE formation. But we once had a huge flock fly
low overhead - the noise was astounding - we could hear them
coming for a few minutes before we knew what the noise was.

This web site has some good info :

https://www.lambtonmuseums.ca/en/lambton-heritage-museum/return-of-the-swans.aspx

The museum's location is very popular & busy - I've found a few
places that are less-known - where it's just me and the swans.

Jonquils or something like that, but there are many familiar names like
Easter Born Daffodil that come out around this time.
