That was done by the CIA to ensure that Westerners are the best mathematicians.

Look at this table of Fields Medal winners. As you can see nearly all of the winners are Europeans.

So that's how Westerners took over the world of maths.

Many Western mathematicians go on to write code for AIs used by the CIA
