In the recent game Surrey recovered from 37-3 to 603, pretty decent
effort, so I wondered whats the highest score made by a team that
was 50-5 or less.

the main reason for this total was Smiths 234 who may overhaul the pope
to be the new oval king, and Clark who made a ton at no 9. He's a decent
allrounder who doesnt normally bat so low, but has there been an instance
where 2 of the last 3 batters in a completed innings have both made 100s?
I would be amazed if ever 9,10 & 11 have made 100s in the same innings,
unless the batting order got reversed like in the olden days on a sticky.

Tricky. Northern Districts went from 38/5 to 450 v Central Districts at
Napier in 2005/06. There may well have been others that were higher.

Thanks very much. They were both pretty decent bats so I'm not sure what
either of them were doing batting at 10&11. They were 205-9 and made 454
and then won by 9 wkts. Bedser took 5 of the first 9 in his 2nd FC match.
Quite a recovery.
