Surrey made 671-9 without a century, pope making 96. I thought the
record score without a ton was 581 by notts, so is this the new
record? Also in this match was Gilchrist who i read online had
previously broken the record for most consecutive ducks = 7.

There have been a few 90 somethings, I only do a briefly on the
scorecards but batsmen getting 90 something seemed to stand out.

Notts 581 was surpassed by Surrey in 2005 - 603 (HS 89) v. Gloucs

<https://stats.acscricket.com/Records/First_Class/Overall/Team/Large_Totals_Without_Century.html>

Six sonsecutive f/c ducks had been achieved about a dozen times.

Gilchrist is shown as the last one to reach 6, which was against
Yorkshire last month.

But apparently the overall f-c record was previously 609 by Namibia
against Uganda - which I'm a little surprised is rated as a f-c fixture.

Surrey apparently also equalled the record for most fifties in an
innings without a century. Had they delayed their declaration slightly
they might well have set a new record, as their number 11 - Worrall -
was 44*.

671 is a large increase on both that county record (adding 68) and the
FC record (adding 62). There are 12 other totals within 62 of the old FC
record. If they hadn't declared, they might well have pushed the record
to over 700 - the last pair (Clark and Worrall) had already added 84.

That would be an achievement in a match in which no-one has yet got out
in single figures.

Wright and Fernando were the only two previously whose 6 ducks consisted
of 3 pairs. Wright did it in his first 3 FC matches.

Forgive me, but what is interesting about the number of totals "within
62" of the old record? It seems a rather idiosyncratic range.

That's the difference between the old record and the new - it was meant
as an indicator of how much of an outlier the new record is.
