I toured three and a half counties as a rep for some years, and knew every
spot you could conveniently park a car out of the sun - without which it
was like the metal torture box in "The Bridge on the River Kwai". Under the
motorway bridge near Tewksbury, only one street with big trees in
Cheltenham etc. etc. There weren't a dozen in the whole area. Boy, would I
have liked aircon - especially as it was the company's petrol. The three
piece suit didn't help either.
