India sustains an additional load of the entire Aus population every year after year, and keeps doing better and better.
The quality of life for the average Indian has certainly become much better, over the decades. The beggars are well dressed.
Australia is great for poor migrants, as certain weird sorts can be easily avoided, as there are so few of them on the streets, and sound laws, for protection against bad behaviour.
I am in Kolkata now. Going back to Melbourne is just for the children and the grandchildren, and for me the pleasure of driving on the great roads. Things are so much better, in India now. Very good highways, here, too. And food is excellent, cheap.
