So Leicestershire, not known for being much good with bat
[or ball], just compiled a massive 756 against the often
equally crap Sussex, with an unbroken 5th stand of nearly 500.
cors neither of the duble centurians are english.

9 hour innings.

Some have worried that these pitches might mean the end for spinners,
but I notice that at Canturbury, Kerrigan & Keogh took 5 wkts each,
which i'm guessing might be their best bowling for some time,
in another lamentable perf by kent, while Harmer took another 13 wkts
at spin city chelmsford [surely the safys cant leave himout?], but sadly
Bess is still v expensive.

nearly equalled by 2 former england players Hameed and
Duckett who put on 402 for the 2nd wkt at Derby against
a rather weak bowling combo. its definitely been a summer
for batters so far.

Another road of roads at Leicester, with Northeast making 408
out of 787-5 in reply to 584. He put on 300 with Ingram and 461
so far with Cooke. Not bad since they were 9-2. Northeast
had a fairly barren time since leaving Kent, so well done him,
but even with the dry weather these wkts are getting ridiculous.
