I hope Brook gets a go in the tests rather than just the white ball sillyness,
although I spose it will only happen if someone gets an injury or fails

It would be difficult to find a more resounding a defeat by a Test playing Touring side than this.

Some points to note:

Sam Connors of Derbyshire took some tap in the first innings but he came back to take 4-25 in the second SA innings. I haven't seen him bowl but i have been told he has genuine pace. He is only 23.

Throughout the game

the Lions had a run rate of 5/74

SA had a run rate of 2.93

The experienced spinner Keshav Maharaj took this pounding in the only Lions innings

There needs to be a vacancy, so you're talking about dropping Crawley
or Pope to get him in. I agree that he looks like a possible next cab
off the rank, but I'd put Livingstone in the same category and toss a
coin or two. They're both really waiting for someone to get injured,
though.

Goalposts still firmly unmoved. You confuse the ideal (ie play under FC rules) with the best that can be done ( ie what both sides will agree to.)

the comms suggest Brook has a weakness against legspin, 14 outs of last 36,
i think they said, and he duly got out to Crane soon after. but it was only the 100.
