According to this morning’s financial news, the business and assets of the
collapsed firm British Volt have been acquired for an undisclosed sum by
the Australian firm of Recharge Industries, itself a subsidiary of the New
York organisation Scale Falicitation.

This acquisition is expected to give Recharge a toe-hold in the European
gigafactory business sector.

This is one of the reasons for official insolvency procedures. It allows
poorly-run and/or under-capitalised enterprises to fall into stronger
and more capable hands.

They ( the Australian Co.) seem to have bought a factory that exists only
in pictures / on paper.

We ( taxpayers) have ‘invested’ ( note the quotes) a huge amount in this
paper factory and, presumably, will get little if anything in return. A
whole new meaning to Net Zero.

😞

Losing money is one of the risks of investment.

It is particularly acute in cases of poor management.

It'll be OK. The company acquiring the assets (such as they are) will
not have done so blindly.
