There was a FC match in india recently where the first 3
batters in an innings scored 2x 200s and 1 100. I wondered
if there had ever been an instance in FC cricket where the first
3 batters had all scored double 100s.

No - there has only been one instance of 3 scores of 200+ in a FC
innings: Hyderabad (944/6d) v Andhra at Secunderabad in 1993/94.

It may be that they knew that a win on first innings would give them
enough points to top their group, which they duly did. They didn't hang
around, as they made their runs in 211 overs and in 807 minutes (though
that would have taken more than two full days' playing time).

It's certainly true that the 2 points ensured that, but they didn't need to bat so long to be sure of not losing.

I can see why they batted on on the 4th morning with Sridhar 290*, but once he got his 300, there doesn't seem to have been an immediate reason to carry on, as David would have been well short of his 200 at that point, and they would still have been about 100 away from the Indian record of 912.
