My Humax HDR-Fox T2 is set to serial record Antiques
Roadshow on Sunday evenings, and usually it does with no problem. But
last night it did not record the programme. The EPG showed that it
should have been transmitted. BBC iPlayer shows it as 'unavailable'.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is/was?

My different Humax model didn't record it either but I did notice that
yesterday's newspaper listings flagged it as a repeat so I'd assume
that's why.

Ah, I hadn't seen that. That might be the answer. Thanks.

My Humax Freesat recorder did record it.

If I set the Sky+ or Humax PVR to record a programme, I would definitely
not expect the machine to decline to record it because it was a repeat!

Interesting. Was it part of a Series recording plan, or an individual?

I have got a Manhattan.

If I set it to series record original broadcasts it does that and
ignores repeats. If I set it to series record repeats it does exactly
that and ignores original broadcasts.

There is an element of logic to it. Once I got used to that idea it was
no problem, and it did once sucessfully record and keep separate the new
series of something on C4 and the repeat of the previous series on More4.

They would record very little from BBC if they did.

that's not the issue

the problem is that if a program is repeated in the future it refuses to
record it if you have previously recorded it

There may be several reason why you might want to do that, some of them
involving resolving a failed recording.

OTOH It telling me I have recorded something previously stops me from
watching BBC4 documentaries twice.

Oh I agree

I do so hate machines that having set it to record the midnight repeat
insist on trying to record next weeks ep at 9pm

and then fail to record it because there's a clash
