Dictator Dan is returning some of our taxes back to us in the form of a
power bill rebate. If you participated in the first round a year or so
ago, you can do it again as of today. Takes about 5-10 mins depending on
how slow you are. :-D

Thanks, I was going to apply today, I've already received the previous
$250 plus an extra $250 because we get paid a pension.
I didn't expect to get any of it since my power bill is always in credit
but I still got it.

Thanks for the heads up. I took advantage of the scheme last time, and
will do so again. As the saying goes, "if it's free it's for me".

Anytime I can get something from the state govt, I'll take it. Fuck Dan
and his pack of syphilitic deadshits.

We've just had the roof done, so we'll be looking into solar..

As an aside, I've just received my "seniors card". :-D No fishing
licence required. So I'm dusting off my fishing gear, replacing line on
the reels etc.. Was at Anaconda this morning, and as I'm looking for
some #12 long shanks, an announcement came over the store's PA.
"everything on the clothes racks at the front of the store is marked
down to $5.00" I went and had a sticky-beak, but it was mainly kids
cloths and swimwear. Anyway, joined the queue to pay for my split shot
(no-one has #12 LS hooks!!) and lo and behold, a lady at the checkout is
tagging some fishing shirts. I asked "dont suppose you are selling them
for $5.00 as well?" She replied :"sure am" They had one left my size.
Woot! From $79 down to $5.00. :-D I dont wear them fishing (yet) but I
do wear them whilst on the tractor or ride on. Stops the forearms
getting frickaseed. Happy days!

+1. Get it whilst you can, because amazingly, a few months AFTER the
state election, Dan admits the shit is gunna hit the fan, budget wise.
He's spent all the money, and were not far from being broke... like
we're back in the Cain/Kirner years... :-(

Sadly it's a pattern that perpetually repeats itself. Labor spends like
there's no tomorrow to the point where they they almost send us bankrupt
and the Libs get appointed to set the financial position back on track.
Then once we've had enough of their austerity regime we give them the
arse so we can put Labor back in to go crazy with the spending all over
again.

We deserve everything we get :)

Absolutely agree, obviously there are many who voted him in but stuffed
if I know who they are, everyone I know agrees his a fucking disaster.
State debt is off the scale, he is so bad he even makes previous Labor
leaders who were criticized for poor economic management look good.

Way worse than anything any of those ever did, he makes them look like
rank amateurs when it comes to spending money.
When Vic state debt exceeds the debt of NSW, QLD and TAS combined
something is very seriously wrong.

Of Biblical proportions.

I don't know anyone who voted for Labor either, but you can thank the
total implosion of the Victorian Libs for there being no real
alternative to Andrews and his corrupt party.

Well I don't know about that :)

As much as I think Andrews is a reprehensible, corrupt cunt of a thing
who has broken more rules than anyone else in living memory, he'd need
to go a long way to get near the financial mess left behind by the
Cain/Kirner fiasco.

Not even close I'm afraid.

Cain and Kirner, and in particular Kirner, were so thoroughly inept that
they cost us the entire public service superannuation balance and the
the State Bank, as well as fucked up investment schemes like
Tri-Continental, the Victorian Economic Development Commission, Pyramid,
you name it. They totally fucked up everything they touched, but
moreover they did so without us getting a *single thing* in return other
than us being pushed to the edge of bankruptcy.

Andrews, by comparison, is sending us broke by way of massive public
spending, but at least we're getting something for it.

Yep. It's a disease called "Victorian Labor Government", and it is
usually fatal.
