I bought an Asus Expertbook a few weeks back, i7 with 15.6" screen for
just under £500 which seems a good price.

I am really struggling with the keyboard though. They used the extra width
to add a numeric keyboard on the right so all keys are a bit smaller and
they are hard to read (I'm not a touch typist by any means).

I need the bigger screen nowadays, anybody know of a laptop with 15.6"
screen without the number keyboard? I don't want a touch-pad either but I
gave that battle up years ago.

Many thanks.

There's lot of laptops in that form factor - typically they put speakers to
the left and right of the keyboard. That's the way the 15"/16" Macbook Pro
does it and there's a whole slew of semi-clones, like the Dell XPS 15.

If you don't like the touchpad, Lenovo have their nub-pointer thing on
Thinkpads.

I'd recommend looking out for a business refurb as you get a lot more for
your money than a new laptop.

Many thanks Theo :-)

That particular Dell looks good but is very expensive and I am really
struggling to find others with larger keys.

Anyway I started poking around and looking at used Dells and have ended up
ordering a "Refurbished Dell Optiplex 9030 Core i5" which is an all in one
- with me providing some of the "all" (mouse/keyboard). They all have
quite big screens (my TV is 30" and some are that size) and I can use a
full sized keyboard - all on a mobile computer stand.

Thanks for giving me the push!
