A quick look at their Trustpilot page leaves me very suspicious. 4,000
reviews, almost 100% rated excellent. Hmm. Bargepole. OTOH scam advisor says
"probably OK".

I woudn't touch anyone who contacts me unless I have contacted them first.

I used a smallish local company and was very satisfied.

Never heard of ScamAdvisor - ta for the pointer.

Probably, maybe not an outright scam, then like the multitude of claim
managers will take up to 50% of your money. Money for old rope.

Seems likely - the last time I did the sums on one of these "solar
panels for free" schemes they did not look good.

Always get a list of local work and go and ask. If they are dodgy they won't
agree to that. I remember when I had the wallcote people to do my house they
specifically asked me if they could pass on my details as a ref. I was not
disappointed at all with the work, its still their nearly 20 years later.

I got an email from my local Epsom&Ewell Council, saying they are
doing a bulk-buying solar panel scheme, and to enter details of roof
size and electricity usage for an installation quote and how much I
could save. The result was my roof could take 8 panels (£4810). I
could either have a battery and keep the power to use when the sun
don't shine (£2042), or change my electricity supplier and smart meter
to sell excess power back to them.
The result for "payback time" was ominously empty, so I worked it out
for myself. The council didn't ask for the name of my supplier so
their figure of how much I could save may well be fanciful, especially
with a new supplier, but assuming it was right gave me either 7 or 8
years payback time without or with the battery respectively. The
battery is only warranted for 10 years so I might well have to buy
another one then - if I was still alive!
Needless to say I will not be proceding.

So after 7 or 8 years you get free electrickery for the lifetime of the
installation (typically 25-30 years). The battery warranty is not a good
indication of the expected life of the battery - expect at least 15 years.
Additionally you could consider taking into account more than just zbarl.

> Needless to say I will not be proceding.

Needless to say, I suggest you reconsider.

Ye cods and little fishes - with 400 Watt panels running at about
£150 a piece and inverters (3kW grid tie) around £500 that's a lot of
installation charge.
