Well, the whackjob here is you Darren. The E series Marina 6 engine was
nothing more than a *factory extended* E Series Marina 4 engine. You
could even see in the head and block castings where the *joint* was made
in the casting moulds. Leyland (or BMC) did the same thing with the B
Series 4 cylinder engines for use as a 6 in the Austin Freeway and others.
Whilst I may never have worked on the E Series 2.6 L (based on the 1750
cc 4) whilst fitted into a Marina, that very same engine was in use in
the P76 and I did *quite a bit of work* on those. The *only* difference
of note was that, while the P76 had heaps of room around the engine, in
the Marina it was a bit tight. So tight that there was no room for a fan
on the water pump spindle, so a thermo fan was used.
The same engine, though in destroked 2.2 L form (based on the 1500 cc
4), was used in the Austin Tasman/Kimberly range of cars and, again, I
did *a lot of work* on those back in the day!

You know Darren, I really doubt you ever worked on a Marina 6. If you
had ever done so, you would have never made the foolish claim that the
front suspension was attached to the *crossmember*. Sadly for you, the
*torsion bar suspension* used on *all Marinas* did not utilise *any
form* of crossmember. The crossmember was *only* used to support the
engine and, in the process, impart a degree of rigidity to the chassis
side rails. It did, after all, link the gap between the engine mount
brackets.

I do love the way you continually harp on about *experience* now. It's
as if you've given up on your *bullshit claims* of 3 apprenticeships and
2 trade qualifications. But, hey, didn't you cripple yourself decades
ago? So any recent *experience* you've had is totally out of the trade.
