Today was the first time both sides gave the new ball to a spinner in
the first innings in a Test in Pakistan.

It's happened a number of times in Bangladesh and somewhat less often
in SL, but never before in Pakistan.

Cheers,

Mike

Jack White of Somerset, a great left arm spinner, bowled the first over in one of the 1921 Ashes
Tests. According to TMS this is the last time an England spinner took the new ball in a Test. RH

Leach is the first England spinner to take the new ball in the first
innings of a match since JC White in 1921.

He is also the first England spinner to have taken the new ball
England's first bowling innings three times since C Blythe, whose last
opening spell was in 1909-10. He did it at Colombo in 2018-19 as well
as at Multan last week.

The other spinners to have taken the new ball at England's first
opportunity since WW2 have been:

JE Emburey, Old Trafford 1988
GP Swann, Lord's 2009
GJ Batty, Chittagong 2016-17

It was common in England in the Golden Age. Spinners opened the
bowling for both sides in every Test of the 1902 Ashes, for instance.

Cheers,

Mike

And I believe they would often rub the ball in the dirt to take some of
the shine off, which was then legal but can't have pleased the quick
bowlers very much (especially George Hirst, who I believe had already
mastered swing).

Hir4t was one of the earliest deliebrate swing bowling practitioners . The alrounder Ted Arnold of Worcestershire and the American J Barton King of the Philadelphians . were others. RH

In the nineteenth century there was also a practice attributed to Yorkshire players in the 19th century of putting mud on the ball to make it bounce unevenly. RH

has that happened since 1902, cos its just happened again, in fact
we had leach, root & rehan, first 3 bowlers. although as the pitch
has held together so far, i think it was premature, they should have
had olly bowling from 1 end. it will probably start disintegrating
when england bat again!

These mushroom chocolates are equivalent to 4 grams of Psilocybin & Psilocin from Psychedelic Mushrooms. Aside from the full-fledged high of eating a number of chocolates, these are helpful for those who are fans of microdosing, as the chocolate hide the fungi flavor and you can eat 1 square at a time. Now available here at affordable prices. Being the official producers and suppliers of polka dot chocolate bars, it has also come to our attention that magic mushrooms have been decriminalized in Washington, DC. Each bar contains 15 easily-breakable pieces.

With the Cinnamon toast crunch flavor, the main ingredients are mushrooms, a naturally flavored chocolate sweetened wheat and rice cereal with a hint of cinnamon. This mushroom chocolate bar has a sweet taste due to a whopping 17 grams of sugar and 6 grams of sugar that is present in the chocolate bar.
