Of course. That is one of the reasons we have supercomputers modelling the

Sure, but there are plenty of people (certain economists and politicians)
who will say to this: "so what? when the oil runs out we'll find something
else - we always do" and will advocate burning all economically exploitable
reserves of hydrocarbons. I know this because I have heard them say it,
many times, and not just in connection with energy sources. It's a way of
avoiding making hard and unpopular decisions.

Not-yet-invented technology will save us at the last minute ? I might
believe that if I see it sort out the problems with the northern Irish
borders.

This is the bit I find incomprehensible, especially when the less
clear cut climate change issue seems to be more persuasive. Still since the
solutions are the same I'm happy enough to go along with it bemused as I am.

under extreme pressure to re-wet the aquifer. I expect them to either

It seems the general idea to pollute the ground water in the aquifer
with polluting flood water. Tell me if I have this 'simple' solution

Now this sound jolly credible - but it leads me to wonder if the actual
spire is quite a bit lighter than that - and there were a number of
suspiciously well-built houses in the surrounding area.

group of people who are supposed to come up with this super wheeze - as
'crooks' who 'make stuff up' because they are somehow paid to invent
global warming, and pollution, and tobacco causing cancer and...
