Thought I'd mention this, it was in RI, and MR this month, the driver of
the unit that went through the buffers at Kirkby has pled guilty at Court
and will be sentenced in due course for endangering the safety of
passengers.
He was using his phone, 26 seconds before impact,and approached the
station at 40mph, rather than the usual 15mph. The emergency brakes
application could not stop the collision.
