It is? I would not have known, I have avoided Google, quite successfully
for most of its 25 years.

Remember WebCrawler? It is 29 years old.

These days I use Startpage and removed all other browsers from my
chamine.

One thing I like about Startpage is being able to search with '-youtube'
to filter out all that 'here's a video' crap.

I see Google are retiring their classic web mail look at the end of this
year. Although I'm sure those who use it will still use the new one. I still
think that for ease of use the old one was better. People are surely over
the whizz bang side of the Internet by now and welcome a constant, rather
than change for its own sake?

I do use start page, which caused problems a week or so ago by sending some
sort of pop up which meant you did not go straight to the search field any
more. It seems to be back to normal now. However, I do use lots of browsers
as some work better on some sites than others. The current one people seem
to be using is Brave, though I've not tried it myself.

I don't understand why yall object to Google groups ?
I mean , when somebody sends you a Google group message you understand it well enough to bitch back at the person.

It doesn't do a very good job of formatting messages (they often come
through with each paragraph as one humongous line).

But my biggest reason is that 99% of spam on usenet comes from google
groups, so I'd like to nuke everything coming from there, but I can't
without also nuking the handful of decent posters who use it for some
reason.

Bin all GG posters but whitelist the people you want to read. You'll
miss new GG posters but if they're interesting enough somebody else will
quote them, then you can add them to your whitelist. It jbexf for me.
