Just received a take it or leave it offer from Softmaker to purchase
FlexiPDF and VueScan together for “just” £12.99. FlexiPDF usually costs
£53.99 and VueScan £26.99. To be honest I don’t really have a genuine need
for either product but at that cost …… Has anyone actually used these
products and a found them useful? Otherwise the email will be consigned to
the bin!

I sue VueScan regularly - but then I need to scan things.

Be aware that you will get updates for a year, and after that you will
no longer be eligible.

Yes, I saw that, thanks. FlexiPDF is Windows only, however I thought I
might at least try (before I possibly buy) via Crossover.

No, it wouldn't apply to OS8.6 machines (which can't read https anyway).

Well I've had a quick play with FlexiPDF running under CrossOver
but I can't say I'm overwhelmingly impressed, especially as I don't
have an ongoing need to edit PDFs. As for VueScan, I see no reason to
"upgrade" from what macOS already provides for my HP All-in-one. The
bin beckons!

I don't know anything about FlexiPDF but I use VueScan all the time.
It supports almost every scanner under the sun and allows for a wide
range of fine tuning. It also has a pretty steep learning curve. If
all you are doing is casual scanning on an HP, their bundled software
is probably adequate.

Yes, as I indicated earlier, that pretty much sums up my needs so I've decided
not to bother with both products on offer for now. But a useful assessment
exercise nonetheless.

I take your point, but it *IS* a PDF document!

You should read it, young man! ;-)
