Feral scum in photos.

These are the faces of cowards who killed on our roads and fled the scene.

This week callous Leo Meek was jailed for 40 months after he 'took out' into a 15-year-old cyclist with his car and then fled.

The 22-year-old killer left Jack Jones in the road, where Upton residents and a taxi driver who witnessed the crash ran to his side.

Hit-and-run collisions cause devastation for the victims' families' and friends, demonstrated in this case by a moving victim statement from Jack's mum.

Marjorie Jones described the moment she felt her son's heart stop beating as doctors withdrew his life support.

She wrote: "I had my hand on his chest, feeling his heart beating, and I felt his heart stop for the last time."

At Jack's funeral pupils and motorbikes lined the streets to pay tribute to the bike-loving teen.

His death caused tragedy for those closest to the 15-year-old, and Meek is just one of the offenders to have caused such devastation on our roads and tried to flee from justice.

Leo Meek, who mowed down and killed a 15-year-old boy riding his bike, was jailed this week for 40 months.

The cowardly driver 'took out' Jack Jones while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan on Manor Drive at around 9.40pm on April 26 this year.

The 15-year-old from Moreton had been cycling the familiar route to his aunt's house after spending the evening watching a film with his little brother.

Meek, 22, left Jack with fatal head and neck injuries while speeding at between 53 and 55mph on a 30mph residential road.

Jack was taken to hospital where he died the following morning surrounded by his family.

He then fled the scene, and didn't even apply his brakes, ditching his friend's dad's car and getting a taxi home, where he went to bed.

Meek, who has eight previous convictions, admitted causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.

Liam Wilson was driving without a licence and speeding when he lost control on a blind bend and killed a 13-year-old boy.

Wilson, 21, was doing 58mph on a 20mph road when he lost control of the Jaguar X-Type he bought just three days earlier.

He hit Jack Worwood, who was walking on the pavement to go and meet his friends to play football, at around 4.30pm on July 7 on Old Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan.

His parents later went looking for him where they found paramedics battling to save his life.

Jack suffered "catastrophic" injuries to his head and chest and the following day the "amazing, clever and funny" Newton-le-Willows teenager died in their arms in hospital.

Wilson and his brother, who were both travelling to KFC, abandoned the car on foot after it came to an eventual stop, but Wilson had dropped his bank card and was later tracked down after spending the night sleeping rough to avoid being arrested.

Wilson, of Livingstone Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield, admitted causing death by dangerous driving.

He was jailed for four years but this is due to be reviewed by the Court of Appeal under the 'Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme'.

Cowardly Carl White left Charlotte Carroll dying in the road and later told a 999 operator he was "too scared" to return.

White, then 39, said he had been looking out for his teenage daughter on May 19, 2018, while driving at almost 70mph on a busy 30mph road.

Pedestrian Charlotte, 19, and her friend Kate Davies were using a pedestrian crossing on Conway Street, Birkenhead, when White hit them at around 11.45pm.

Kate was lucky to escape with a broken foot, but Charlotte was propelled into the air and died immediately from multiple, catastrophic injuries.

He was denounced as "cowardly, selfish and irresponsible" by Judge Louise Brandon after it emerged he carried on driving before parking his Honda Civic in a dark street and phoning the police to say he was too scared to go back to the scene.

A court heard Charlotte had been enjoying a barbeque at her boyfriend's nan's house before they went into Birkenhead town centre to meet friends.

Her traumatised boyfriend, who witnessed the crash, said he looked into her eyes and 'knew she was gone'.

Martine Snowdon, defending, told the court White had been "stressed" after hearing his teenage daughter, who had arranged a sleep over with a friend, was not at her friend's house.

White, of Larch Grove, Bidston, was jailed for four-and-a-half years after admitting causing Charlotte's death by dangerous driving.

Aidan McAteer was jailed for nine years after hitting a four-year-old child and her grandmother while speeding at 83mph in a stolen car.

The 26-year-old is currently serving a sentence for killing Violet-Grace Youens on March 24 at Prescot Road, St Helens.

Violet and her grandmother were walking across the road when they were struck by a stolen Ford Fiesta car.

McAteer was jailed for nine years and four months after admitting causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.

The car "went out of control" moments before the collision and struck the kerb, mounted a nearside pavement and collided with a lamppost.

Following the crash McAteer, formerly of Whiston, fled the country and went to Amsterdam that evening, assisted by Dean Brennan, 27, of Prescot, who was jailed for six year and eight months after admitting assisting an offender and aggravated vehicle taking.

Not a single location or address described above is in Liverpool. The
so-called "Liverpool Echo" is not a Liverpool publication.

But that's the level of geographical knowledge one expects from Mason,
who takes the opportunity to parade his ignorance via the factually
incorrect thread title (now corrected).
