Most ariels are barely visible from more than a few hundred metres away while
satellite dishes look like white warts from a mile off.

Actually, most domestic satellite dishes are matt black. However, mine
is a subtle blend of matt black and rust.

Hint: In most people's view your posts are mostly fit only for
kill-filing, but you are nymshi(f)ting because you are such an arrogant
arsehole that you just can't bear to be kill-filed.

In a rural location a mere six miles from the nearest town.

Most ariels are indoors in a packet or bottle next to a washing machine.
However, most aerials are above the roof-line, and therefore are more
visible from a distance than most sat dishes most of which seem to be no
higher than half-way up the wall of a house, and not all of them are white.

Mine is a shade of grey. But as the wall it is mounted on is limestone
rather than brick, it doesn't stand out at all.

Plenty of people pretend to killfile as they see it as a drop the mic and walk
moment but they rarely do as often they reply again a few weeks later anyway :)

Walk through any high rise estate 10 or 20 years ago and a lot of the blocks
would have been doing an impression of a nasa uplink station. Though I think
these days councils and freeholders take a dimmer view of it and there are
far fewer but that could be down to broadband too of course.

Some do, but your regular nym-shi(f)ting goes against Usenet netiquette,
and the above is not an excuse for doing it.

You obviously have no experience of them, I have, both as a personal and
on behalf of a business customer. Put simply, they are the worst firm
to do business with that I've ever encountered. Any more detail would
take all day to write.

As far as this area is concerned, locals have been trying to get BT off
their arses since well before I moved here. Five years ago, I had
another try, and even submitted a reasonably viable plan to them via
HIE, but they refused to implement most of it, and the only reason that
we got the one green cabinet that we did, which is 2.5 miles away from
me by roadside cabling, is because after the initial refusal of all of
it, I tried again a couple of years later, and got HIE to pay for one of
the three cabinets required, because the money was never going to come
from BT.

http://www.macfh.co.uk/Shinness/FTTCSubmission/FTTCSubmission.html

And even that they then sited so stupidly that the first thing a local
resident said to me about it was: "Nice of them to give us a crash
barrier", but, as a crash barrier, it was fucking hopeless:

www.macfh.co.uk/Temp/FTTC_-_Green_Cabinet_In_Green_Field_Site.jpg

Last time I bothered to count, there were at least 12 different points
around the area where cables, manholes, or access points had not been
buried properly and were vulnerable to damage by verge trimming, ditch
clearance, etc. This is a particularly bad example, but there are
plenty of others, some of which have actually been damaged, but I can't
now find the photos of those that I remember taking. Note the date, it
still looks like that, despite such things being reported to BT by more
than one person over many years:

I actually agree with you for once. When we moved into our current house
and got the landline up and running there was noise on the line due to a dodgy
connection to the pole. Despite me constantly telling BT this and asking
them to fix it so their broadband router would work they never sent anyone
out but their "tech support" team in fuck-knows-where-istan constantly tried to
"fix" it remotely. After a 2 weeks of this shit we cancelled the account and
switched to virgin.

Same thing happened here. Tipper lorry overshot a corner and took out the
phone cabinet. They built a new one on the exact same spot. *sigh*.

So you like to claim whenever your selfish behaviour requires modifying
to fit in with social norms or even legal requirements, but, if no-one
cares, why even keep doing it? The simple truth is that you're a
narcicisstic troll who can't bear the insignificance of people rightly
thinking that your ignorant views are worth SFA and kill-filing you.

Social norms on usenet? Hello? As for legal requirements, oh please, that meme
was debunked 30 years ago.

If you still think I'm doing it just so various people I don't give a rats
backside about have to keep killfiling me then you're an idiot. But then we
knew that already.

The current legal requirement to wear a face mask on the London
Underground cannot possibly have been debunked 30 years ago.

There doesn't seem to be any other obvious reason, but then logic was
never your strong point, so perhaps it's just more childish
stubbornness, as in ... MisterMule@stubborn.uk, donkey.derby, MrSpook*,
MrSpud* ... at least the nyms you choose accurately describe both your
character flaws and lack of intelligence.

Ah ok, put them all in one post so they link in google. Well nice try, but
as you can see I have an answer for that. It'll be entirely random nyms from
now on and you're to blame if anyone asks. Well done grandpa.

Actually that hadn't occurred to me, but thanks for the tip, as you can
see above, two can play at that game.

WTF difference does it make if they're random or not? You seem to have
great difficulty in understanding the perfectly obvious, to everyone
else at least, point that, as you have been told before, your behaviour
online is a surer give away to your identity rather than whatever your
actual damned fool nym is today. If people really wanted to link your
nyms, your behaviour is the *FIRST* thing they'd look at.

Still, this is getting tiresome and is disrupting the ng, constant
nym-shifting reported to a b u s e @ a i o e . o r g

Thank you for that. Gobbledegook nyms are filtered out as spam on my
computer. Thanks to JJ I could see what you did and I can reply, but
from now on you will delete yourself from my Unread list as long as you
want to play such games.

Good bye, goodbye, you're leaving me. Goodbye.

No, you're just not very good at anything much at all, not even sarcasm,

I'm pointing out that whenever you are required to change your behaviour
for the benefit of the majority, you are always too selfish to do it,
even when, as with the masks, others health and well-being is involved.
As with your much-boasted failure to wear masks on public transport, so
with your constant nym-shi(f)ting here.

More abuse in an effort to cover up a lost argument. You're the 'bitter
little pillock' here, with a chip on your shoulder as large as the empty
space between your ears.

Your general lack of intelligence and knowledge suggests that you don't

Self-righteousness is your meme, not mine, I'm not the one proudly
claiming to have been travelling public transport without a mask for no
better reason that I am too selfish to accommodate others, and I'm not
the one nym-shi(f)ting because I haven't got anything materially useful
to the group to contribute but I just can't bear to be ignored.

Make sure to wear your adult nappy too next time you go out just in case
people who arn't snivelling bed wetters arn't wearing masks in the shops you

You're deluding yourself, AFAICR you've never managed to argue anyone in

Even that would be something that you don't have, but it happens to be
Mathematics & Computing.

[Snip more childish abuse and insults in an attempt to cover up the fact
that you have nothing useful to say, but just can't bear to accept
losing an argument.]
