I exist with debts unpaid

There’s a softness in my spirit
On my best days you can hear it
It’s a fearlessness against this life’s impending disappearance
Its a faith in something bigger
I stole that from my sister
She keeps me on the better side

There’s an empathy in leaving
An Understanding through deceiving
A trust in falling out of touch then picking up the pieces
‘Cause no one really knows you
Like the ones you grew up close to

To keep you on that better side

I stood in the basement
At your visitation
I thanked you in silence
I made up my mind then:

This fate that we’re finite
It’s a wave on the skyline
So hold me like you know we're in the undertow
