For those that will actually believe I've spent a couple of days at The Oval, it's been an intriguing game on a funny old pitch that means you have to make the most of what's on offer with the ball until it goes dead after about 40 overs.

Highlights have been:

- The Abbott/Worrall last-wicket stand that for me will always be a great thrill / utter nightmare to be on the receiving end of.
- Seeing the class of Curran coming back to the county game - especially with the ball in the 2nd inns so far giving them bugger all to hit (the less said about how he got out)
- The excellent Will Williams with the ball - little wonder he's got the 4th best bowling average in the last couple of seasons for those who've taken a fair few wickets (I imagine he's been kept out the NZ side by Southee et al. for many years)
- Jamie Smith again looking a million dollars until holing out
- Curran and Jacks deciding to go Bazball to put pressure on the bowlers - Jacks' words - and Surrey ended up at a smidge over 5 rpo given them and the last wicket stand

another remarkable match involving surrey. they had a 90run lead on 1st, needed
200 to win, all out 84 their first loss in the CC this season.
