I support Bazball as of today and continue to support it unless they
become reckless in the future.

Winning 11 out of 13/14 tests and then losing one to Australia, I can
live with it.

I didn't see much of the game but looking over the score card you
would think there wasn't much bazing of the ball happening.
Crawley scoring at a run a ball looks a bit bazball on paper.

Did you not look at the run rate?
Currently 4.55.
Was over 5 for a big chunk of the innings.

Have you done any analysis of England's 12 or so Tests *before* Bazball?

In how many of those were we 278/4?

Bazball is a double edged sword. It has helped england win matches
over the last year, but it could gift oz the game, if it goes wrong.

cant see brook or jonny shying away from the short stuff, so
it could go either way. but as stokes said theyr not a results driven
team, the project is to entertain. your missing the point about bazball
if you think the object is just winning. its bigger than that.

oz may have won the last match but england won on a much higher
level; they entertained.

Well, quite. Of course /no-one/ other than a moron would want
to defend the "moronic Baz Ball", but I, for one, would certainly want
to defend the /actual/ "Bazball", misunderstood to mean mindless rash
and impetuous play. The point is that the England squad have access
to statistics of a detail that we could only dream about in the past.
Root, eg, /knows/ that /on average/ he scores more runs hooking than
not doing do. Every player has gut feelings about which shots are
productive and which shots get him out cheaply; today, those gut
feelings are reinforced [or disproved] by the /actual/ ball-by-ball
results. Similarly for bowling.

If Root gets [say] 80 runs per wicket while hooking -- he'll
take that. Sometimes it will fail, sometimes it will work better than
the average. Players typically score below their average ~2/3 of the
time -- eg Bradman scored a century in roughly 1/3 of his innings --
so it's daft to point to one, two or even three consecutive low scores
as evidence of failure. But I don't suppose Robert will let the hard
statistics influence him.

No, it's NOT.

Those days are gone long ago.

Cricket is ENTERTAINMENT now.

Winning is of course IMPORTANT but ENTERTAINMENT is also secondarily
important.

Your senile lunatic racist ass is STUCK in the 1960s.

NOBODY cares about your personal opinions and feelings.

Cricket fans and the game MOVED ON.

Test cricket will DIE soon IF ALL teams don't adopt bazball.

As simple as that.

If it is supposed to be a substitute for war and entertaining as well,
it's a long way behind the ultimate bat and ball game.
