You'll note that DoM Bess is listed twice (for both Yorks and Warks),
and Test player Jack Leach is listed as Joe. There are a number who
have been tried at international level and failed. One also notes the
absence of any non-white players, which is culturally unlikely.
(Indeed there is a player with ancestors from elsewhere in the squad
even if not picked.)

The question is why anyone would post a list of spinners including a
bunch of international failures and some other players who've been
known to turn their arms over to some effect.

Cheers,

Mike

So what does qualify as "some promise"? Hamish was obviously pointing
out that the bar seems to be pretty low.

Take the first name on your list: Alex Thomson. At the age of 29, he has
55 FC wkts @ 43 (36 @ 45 in the CC, of which 1 was in Division 1). He
took 6-138 for Cardiff MCCU v Hants 7 years ago; apart from that, he has
only once taken more than 3 wickets in a FC innings: 4-104 v Middx last
year. Incidentally, both of those performances were in the first 8 days
of April; he seems to go downhill rapidly as the season gets going.

I assume that "Matt Mckewan" means Mattie McKiernan. He's also 29, and
has 6 FC wkts @ 35 in 8 matches.

I think that will give readers a rough idea of the level required to
make it onto your list.

untrue, Sisodiya SLA who has already rep england u19 has 15 wkts at 24, rather better
than some on your list.

Tom Price is a seamer. Perhaps you mean his bro Ollie who until this season
had only 1 FC wkt.

> >> Hampshire Liam Dawson SLA, Mason Cran LBGe, Felix Organ RoB, Tom Press RoB

With Leach out, I'd have chosen Dawson not Ali for the squad, but
while he occasionally makes the white ball sides, they clearly dont
rate him enough for tests. Still seems strange to choose Ali who
has almost given up FC cricket for 1 of the few england spinners
who usually plays everyone of Hants CC games.

Tom Hartley def has potential. hes a decent bat as well.

I think Hollman is a leggie. He bats left, bowls right.

Mousley is another who bats left bowls right. yet to take an FC wkt acc to cricinfo.

Bess is rather a tragic example. He looked to be a great talent but
now gets tonked all over the CC. Current match at essexville he got
2-159 & 1-28 while Harmer took a 10for. I'm still hoping that at 25 hes
young enough to make it back.

Another lefty who looks promising is dan Moriarty who used to play for
Surrey. The problem for all of these is that they get little FC cricket,
and prob even less in future while the 100 dominates august. You'd
expect spinners to be more dominant in June July and August
when the weather is dryer and the pitches start to wear, but I think there
are only 2 CC rounds in July and none in August probably, so its not
surprising that they dont get many chances to shine.

yes the first leggy to take 5 wkts in a test for england since whenever,
doesnt get a mention. wot a surprise.

and if you do you might at least get their names right and what they
bowl. Sloppy effort.

The purpose of that list was to start a debate.
I did make one or two errors such as describing Luke Holman of Middlesex as an RoB . In fact I knew he was a leg spinnier but I got him tangled up with Mike Atherton's boy who also plays for Middlesex.

Finally, just to ensure that readers understand the macular problems I am struggling with here they are:

What are the 1st signs of macular degeneration?
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) | Johns Hopkins Medicine
Symptoms may include:
Blurry or fuzzy vision.
Difficulty recognizing familiar faces.
Straight lines appear wavy.
A dark, empty area or blind spot appears in the center of vision.
Loss of central vision, which is necessary for driving, reading, recognizing faces and performing close-up work.

The EVIL White Christian CIA NSA FBI MI6 MI5 ASIS ASIO deep state
Psychopaths have been "PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY" TORTURING ME with
Directed Energy Weapons, Neuroweapons and AI for the last 22 years
NON-STOP like British Psychologist Dr Carole Smith explained in these
EXCERPTS but I never played victim and NEVER craved for sympathy like you.

In fact, my TORTURE ORDEAL is MUCH MUCH WORSE than what Psychologist
Smith explained here.

You would have COMMITTED SUICIDE or ended up in a mental asylum WITHIN A
YEAR.

Excerpts:

Part of the effort is to remind the victim that they are constantly
under control or surveillance. Programmes vary, but common forms of
reminders are electronic prods and nudges, body noises, twinges and
cramps to all parts of the body, increasing heart beats, applying
pressures to internal organs – all with a “PERSONALLY CODIFIED system of
comments” on thoughts and events, designed to create stress, panic and
desperation. This is mind control at its most benign. There is reason to
fear the use of beamed energy to deliver lethal assaults on humans,
including cardiac arrest, and bleeding in the brain.

“The calculated and technological entry into another person’s mind is an
act of monumental barbarism” which obliterates– perhaps with the
twiddling of a dial – the history and civilization of man’s mental
development. It is more than an abuse of human rights, it is the
destruction of meaning. For any one who is forced into the hell of
living with an unseen mental rapist, the effort to stay sane is beyond
the scope of tolerable endurance. The imaginative capacity of the
ordinary mind cannot encompass the horror of it. We have attempted to
come to terms with the experiments of the Nazis in concentration camps.
We now have the prospect of systematic control authorised by men who
issue instructions through satellite communications for the destruction
of societies while they are driving new Jaguars and Mercedes, and going
to the opera.

Although forced entry into a mind is by definition obscene, an
abbreviated assessment of the effects that mind-invaded people describe
testifies to the perverted nature of the experiments. Bizarre noises
are emitted from the body, a body known well enough by its owner to
recognise the noises as extrinsic; air is pumped in and out of orifices
as if by a bicycle pump. Gradually the repertoire is augmented – twinges
and spasms to the eyes, nose, lips, strange tics, pains in the head,
ringing in the ears, obstructions in the throat, pressure on the bowel
and bladder causing incontinence; tingling in the fingers, feet,
pressures on the heart, on breathing, dizziness, eye problems leading to
cataracts; running eyes, running nose; speeding up of heart beats and
the raising of pressure in the heart and chest; breathing and chest
complaints leading to bronchitis and deterioration of the lungs;
agonizing migraines; being woken up at night, sometimes with terrifying
jolts ; insomnia; intolerable levels of stress from the loss of one’s
privacy. This collection of assorted symptoms is a challenge to any
medical practitioner to diagnose.

I am being MENTALLY RAPED for the last 22 years NON-STOP by the EVIL
WHITE CHRISTIAN PSYCHOPATHS, CRIMINALS, SADISTS, PERVERTS and BLOOD
THIRSTY DEVIANT PSYCHOTICS, with BRAIN CONTROL WEAPONS, AI and DEWs.

All of you think that everybody on rsc, uksc are cricket fans.

That's 100% FALSE.

Some of them are CIA NSA FBI MI6 MI5 ASIS ASIO Psychoapths undercover
with FAKE USER NAMES.

Here are a couple of examples of TORTURES every day by the MENTAL
RAPISTS at CIA NSA MI6 MI5.

When I "wondered in my mind", what happened to the gangstalker with fake
username "viper", who stalked and abused me non-stop on cricket forums
for a couple of years, the EVIL CIA NSA MI6 ASIS Psychopaths "read my
private thoughts" and REMOTELY PROGRAMMED alvey to post this comment to
INFORM ME with a secret coded message that "Viper relocated to a
different state/city" to "TORTURE OTHER mind control victims aka

I have been TRYING to "educate you" about the REAL REALITY which existed
