The main reason England is down 1-2 is because Bairstow who played a
major part in England's bazball BEFORE the Ashes Series is OUT OF RHYTHM
both in batting and keeping after coming back from Injury.

TMS reported that Brook moving to 5 was a cunning plan hatched by
Moeen. That's how to play for team and country. If he was Irish they'd

then it did at Liord's with Broad at 8, nobly though he did in the

With 9 days rest before Old Trafford, I expect they'll stick with Broad,
with Tongue coming in for Robinson. I'd like to see Foakes replace
Bairstow, who has been nowhere near his best with either bat or gloves,
but I don't expect that will happen.

Brook seemed far happier at five, so they may stick with Moeen at 3.

Robinson dropping out might be wise - I imagined he'd be our kingpin - he's been sodding miles from it. Given that Broad averages 19 at OT and Anderson 22, it might be worth jettisoning Robinson as you say.

It does feel as though they're finding their way to their strongest side in this series where Aus probably (ish) know theirs. Wood answered the question about 9 days off and the next Test rather gingerly (let's see how I pull up). I suspect if England happen to win the next one with him in the side, the Oval will probably come up too quickly for him... England have some man management to do...
