Whatever you think about the dreaded Bazball, it's bringing people to the game, albeit having to pay to watch it...

Will Macpherson @willis_macp
Sky say their average viewership for this men's Ashes series is up 45% on 2019, and the 3rd Test was their highest average (965k) for any Test ever. Women's Ashes flying too - T20s were up 135% on 2019, Test up 400%.

ithink they said the womens t20 were sold out, although the test looked a bit sparse.
if englnd had lost at leeds, i think views and attendances would have fallen
off dramatically.

the women are doing somewhat better than the men, 3 wins on the trot and have leveled the series at 6-6.

meanwhile one of the most 1 sided tests is nearing an end in dominica, with the windies putting in
an abysmal effort and yet they comprehensively stuffed england about a year ago. i think
windies cricket could be dying.

Yes, they've done very well - apart from some of the catching. It could
work in their favour if today's match is rained off, which must be quite
likely. Then they would only have to win the final match to regain the
Ashes, rather than having to win both matches (discounting the remote
chance of one of the matches being tied).

Their Test cricket anyway. It's very sad. Had it been a boxing bout, the
ref would have stopped the fight to save WI from further punishment.

I thought the match was today for some reason. It's actually tomorrow,
which improves the chances of a largely uninterrupted day's play.
