yes indeed, glad he did so, career figures look much better rounded up.
1 person notably absent from that list: Stokes stuck on 197 wkts after 94 tests.
Will he ever bowl again?

I think he will, but I think it will be a rarity and only in times of
desperate need.

Apparently he was seen bowling quite decent off-spin in the nets this

Bowling spin would be a lot kinder on his knee than bowling fast-medium

Tony Greig did it very successfully. His medium pace off spin was much
more penetrative than his seamers.

I have read her - all of her Earthsea books as well as some of her
science fiction - and I agree that she was a brilliant writer. But any
influence on what I wrote above was subconscious, and I confess I can't
see what you're alluding to.

That would be the quote in your signature. It looks like Steve is using

i think her wizard books are a lot better than the stuff JKrowing
puts out, although i've not read the book youve quoted.

I think that short of having one leg amputated there's nothing that will
stop him going!

I agree - not that Rowling's books aren't good, but Le Guin's are
superb.

"The Beginning Place" was I think the title when it was released in the
US, whereas in the UK it was retitled "Threshold" for some reason. It's
a fantasy novel that was marketed as for "young adults", though none the
worse for that, as the same applies to at least the early Earthsea books
of course.

I've read it and it's very good, though I didn't get the quote from
reading it but from a list of quotes on some website or other.
