I guessed as much but still, I enjoyed the story. I'd missed S1, I came
to it from S2 (airing now) - qebar jnesner (ooh!) V. exciting.

Quite so. I went around the sub. museum in Gosport a while back. Not
'zackly nukular but I couldn't imagine spending weeks on end in a creaky
metal tube barely tall enough to stand up in with all those lead/acid
batteries and a thundering great mutley-cylinder diesel. Those WWII
submariners were brave men indeed.

They're not very good at cramped interiors. The film Apollo 13
makes the capsule look a *lot* bigger than the real thing which was
extremely cramped.

The main problem is that they need to make room for the cameras and to
get decent shots of the actors.

I remember a movie from half a Century ago when Cliff Richard lived (and
loved, which is what I typed first)on a seven foot wide narrowboat. The
studio interior set was about ten feet wide. On my nasrrowboat, I can
just about touch both cabin sides at the same time.

TBH a LOT of scenes meant to be in a cramped location just do not give
the 'real feel' as the production company has to get cameras in there
and, actors and, be able to move stuff about and,.. ,so the space is
oversized as compared to reality.

I unforget as a teenager (15 or so) self and friend were on a guided
tour of a submarine . I was desperate for the toilet so when the chap
showing us around asked "any questions" I asked, rather embarrassedly,
"do you have a toilet?". To which my friend said "no they hold it in for
six months" all embarrassment vanished as everyone laughed.

Yeah there was no spare space in an Apollo capsule, if there had
been they'd have made it smaller!

Always wondered about that. In old films/newsreels the aircraft
canopies always seem to reach about two feet over the pilots head
couldn't they just make the canopies smaller?

Enjoyed both series 1 and 2. Sometimes factual accuracy needs to be
sacrificed for a good story.
