Where my parents have a holiday cottage in Wensleydale, the equivalent term
is "moderate", as in "I've been reet moderate - I had to go see the doctor".
It signifies "I've given it a month, but this isn't going to go away by
itself with a bit of help from granny's folk remedies, so I need to get it
looked at".

Perhaps they ought to cut your pension instead, given that you seem to
want to rubbish everything about them.

Clearly not, as you are always looking for every opportunity to put
the boot in.
Countless times you've re-posted the same old bigoted stuff.
Maybe it's senility setting in.

Imagine the uproar if all BBC 1 SD reqgions closed and the HD opt out

No, it's simply something that is literally years late.

I wish.

I fear that a swap to DVB-T2 will not happen and that COM7 will go
quietly into the night. I think the expected uproar about DVB-T1
(intended error) only kit going in the skip will mean we lose
channels from freeview. I suppose the cost of converting the
transmitters won't help either.

Bob.

I suspect most T1-only kit is already in landfill, e.g. my parents had upgraded
to a HD telly, then Dad replaced that with a newer HD model.

we certainly have a T1 only ;smart' set in the kitchen. The main set is
only about a year old.

Our bedroom TV is a CRT driven over SCART from a T1 only STB.

I dread replacing it, not least because it's in a cuddy in the built-in
furniture designed for it - roughly cubical.

OTOH we use it less than once a month.

My kitchen is same but with T2 STB. I am convinced this improves
picture quality, but I may be deluding myself.

This morning on Freeview from Sandy Heath and on Freesat; the cannot
show notice has changed from text on a graphic background with
countdown to a (New to me) simple white text on red screen,
First sign of the change perhaps?

Hopefully this might spur ITV to do much the same, here on the
Northants/ Rutland border, we currently get Meridian news and weather on
Freeview ITV HD.
Freesat is fine with Anglia as the main ITV offering.

You would be served by either Waltham or Sandy Heath or possibly Belmont
or Sutton Coldield in that area. None of these fall into the Meridian
region.

IIRC, MNeridian is served by Hannington, Crystal Palace and Rowridge
along with their relays.

So I admit I am struggling to work out why you have Meridian unless one
transmitter has switched to a satellite based backup feed at 27.5W or 28.2E.

I know Sutton Coldfield is using a Freesat feed to broadcast Freeview HD
but that is the correct region.

The new notice caption is only part of the BBC's logo rebrand, that
started today

Yes, on DTT the Meridian South East version of ITV HD is carried on all
Meridian and Anglia transmitters.

It's only on D-Sat where you get the (one of five) correct ITV sub
regions in HD in those two regions
