working when the immobiliser does not see the key.

Husqvarna chainsaw, metric socket set, imperial socket set, cctv
cameras, damaged doors/locks/windows. There's probably other stuff I
haven't noticed yet/can't remember.

I have. Just as annoying though is bits being stolen off bikes: I had
a mirror that seems trivial but for some reason that side of that type
was very difficult to find secondhand (though in all honesty, they
were probably available new; but back then I was skint)

Also a bike that would not start, traced to a missing ignition module.
They'd even put the side panel back afterwards.

I've had just one attempt (that I'm aware of), back when I worked in one
of the slightly rougher areas of North Tyneside. They went at the token
disk lock on the front with a pair of bolt croppers, failing to do more
than dent the plastic coating. They disturbed the bike enough to set off
the alarm (back in the days when I bothered with such nonsense). A load
of us came out of the factory building and they scarpered in a car
they'd previously stolen elsewhere.

I don't think they'd even noticed the FOAD padlock and chain around the
rear wheel and a lamppost.

My CBR600 was wheeled away from the outside of my house once. I lived in a small pedestrian square with 8 houses on it. I found the bike, lying on its side, round the corner in the car park. I suppose they'd got bored of pushing the steel-framed bastard, possibly with the steering lock on.

I also had a bright yellow transit van nicked from behind that same house. I was a little annoyed until my boss said that we could claim on the insurance for all my personal possessions (maps, tapes). I turned in a beautifully "comprehensive" list of what was in there, and got every penny back. Thinking about it, I'm not entirely convinced that the "theft" wasn't an inside job, but my boss died a few years ago so I suppose I'll never know. He was a hilarious bloke and he always treated me right, but he was bent.

But they must be tooled up addicts, they will have needed a van to get
it away. And they will have had to be organised as the access road was
one way, straight into major roadworks.

I'm going to try and get the CCTV form the council, but they don;t make
it easy and suggest that they will not use the CCTV to "identify anyone
who crashed into your vehicle" as a possible reason not to grant access.

I'm quoting the crime number and the fact it is a crime being committed.
We will see.

The TR-34 was a shocker as well, that was a lovely little bike, wish I'd put it on the road now just for mucking about with.
