36F and 1036mb. It is a very frosty start and the sun isn't high enough
yet to reach my house so it feels very cold out there.

Mornin' from a cool but still, dry, bright and sunny day here in
South Yorkshire. As yesterday we have had BYT and Walter here since
sun-up. Temperature out there is 5.7�C (42.3�F), barometric pressure
is steady at 1035.1 mB with RH showing as 80%. Forecast is for the
clear sky to remain for the rest of the day with temperature to peak
this afternoon at around 7�C (44.6�F) and the fall to around freezing
point overnight. It's looking like tomorrow will be about the same.

Tabby again came for supper around 23:30, although, already being
fast asleep in her bed, Sootie didn't see that. This morning Sootie
was breakfasted and off out whilst I conducted my second lateral flow
test (another -ve result). The n just I was getting my breakfast ready
Tabby was back again asking for a brunch this time. Sootie calmly
observed all the goings on. When Tabby had cleared and washed her
saucer, Sootie came in and went to her bed whilst Tabby went off on her
ambles.

I am also on blood thinner, and I used to suffer from heavy nosebleeds
too. But the blood thinners don’t actually cause the nosebleeds - they
just make them seem a lot worse.

A few years ago I received an email out of the blue from my sister in
Germany, saying that she had been diagnosed with haemochromatosis, and
as it’s a genetic condition I was advised to have a blood test to see if
I was also suffering from it.

The results came back and a diagnosis was confirmed - my ferritin levels
were found to be about 10 times the recommended maximum.

I was referred to a consultant haematologist, and after a short
examination she organised some blood letting sessions which reduced the
ferritin levels and the nosebleeds have stopped since then.

Anyway ... next time you see the doctor, it might be worth asking for a
blood test to see if there’s anything wrong in that department. I am
told that there’s something like an epidemic of undiagnosed cases going
around and that the more serious ones can cause major problems elsewhere.

It costs nothing to ask

Hope you can get that nose bleed sorted out quickly Bill, It took them
several years to actually finally stop mine a few years back. Mine must
have been caused by something different though, as I have never been on
blood thinners, that I know of. Good luck.

Which doesn't conclusively rule out haemochromatosis - but if its fixed
I guess its not a problem.

The worst case that I know of personally was a bloke I used to work with
years ago, who had to have a blood vessel in his left nostril cauterised :-\

I suggest you keep a record of your nose bleeds and how long they last.
You should tell the doc if they are longer than 10 mins or so.

Well I've not needed any treatment for more than 5 years now and not a
nosebleed in sight. :) (Hope that's not tempting fate). :(
