The official data for Great Britain mentions the cyclist road-death rate
for 2022 as being 23 per billion miles cycled.

With figures in the Dutch media suggesting some 17.5 billion km being
cycled in 2022, and with the official Dutch figure of 291 cyclist road
deaths in that year, the equivalent cyclist road-death rate can be
calculated to be a little over 26 per billion miles cycled.

GB can therefore claim to provide a cycling environment that is somewhat
safer than that of the Netherlands.

Quite why GB is being pushed to emulate the Dutch when it comes to cycling
safety remains a mystery, but could be due to cycling groups turning a
blind eye to unwelcome news that goes against their current agenda of the
relentless pursuit of ever more cycling infra and ever-increasing demands
for yet more restrictions on private motor-transport (usually excused as
‘meeting climate targets’ and ‘cleaner air’).
