I believe I mentioned that I had my, once every 2 yearly scan, a
transthoracic-Echocardiogram, on Saturday 15th January from which the
consultant had booked a telephone appointment with me on Tuesday 22nd
February. Well since that I had received a couple of confirmary letters
and this morning a letter to say that 'I have a normal size left
ventricle with normal function. I also have a normal right heart and
function. I also continue to have only moderate aortic regurgitation,
so essentially have no significant changes since 2020'. Which means
that they will most likely want another scan in 2024. So my unusually
slow pulse rate (~ 40 when resting) and permanent irregular pulse are
normal. Perhaps my heart is still benefiting from the exercise of
playing badminton at a serious level from the age of 22 to 70+ up to 4
evenings per week. Mind you, I really do wish that I still felt as fit
as I used to when in my 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. So as the
telephone appointment for the 22nd February still stands I guess it'll
simply a Q & A session for me to make certain that I understand what is
going on with me.

I was very active till I left the rescue 4/5 years ago.......then
health went downhill. They keep telling me my heart rate is too high but
I just checked....64bpm. It always goes up at a consultation.
