Well who aays AI is not able to think for itself and create humour.

Have you ever tried speech recognition on a I-Phone?

I'm sure that some of the routines can only cope in a completely silent
situation.

I'd love to get one that can try to understand lyrics in songs.
My hot dogs go on would only be the tip of the iceberg.

Apparently that's Celine Dion, but, where I found the only useful
reference to it, the link to a YouTube video was broken, and the name of
her song was not given, so I'm still none the wiser! Care to tell us
what the original lyric was?

I think "I believe that the heart does go on" ("heart does" -> "hot dogs")

Then there's "A young girl with eyes like potatoes" from Madonna's La
Isla Bonita.

"The Reverend Blue Jeans", presumably about a trendy vicar, which IIRC
is by Neil Diamond.

I remember hearing that song in the late 1970s and thinking "Reverend Blue
Jeans? WTF". But like you I thought no more of it - trendy vicar, OK. It was
only about 10 years ago, on a web site about Mondegreens, that I discovered
that it was "Forever in blue jeans".

And as for Belinda Carlisle's song, I've listened many times very carefully,
and I *still* maintain that she sings "Blue Heaven is a place on earth" (as
opposed to "Ooooh! Heaven is a place on earth".

Two of my favourites are Three Degrees "Bicycle Hut", and Kenny
Rogers' song about the the time his shoe broke when running for a bus.

"My Simple Heart" and "Lucille", respectively.

Ah, I thought Lucille was about the perils of not doing up the wheel nuts on
your car: You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel.

I've never had any trouble with that one. I think however one interprets
it on first hearing must strongly influence how one hears it
subsequently.
