My first thought when I saw the photo and the headline a few hours ago
was that it had been abandoned on the flight of steps (how?). Only when
I read the article did it become clear that it (somehow) made its way
onto the platform (maybe having travelled along the tracks), and was
then winched up the stairs as it was being recovered.

I wonder how they got it out of the ticket hall once they'd got it up
the staircase...
