We've just had some major plans cancelled as we were going to celebrate
our 50th wedding anniversary. We'll just rebook and do it all later
(whenever that may be possible). At least they didn't apply a
cancellation fee so I guess that is something.

Thanks, that worked. I can't understand how Gladys continues day after
day dealing with those reporters. They seem to just ask really dumb
questions regardless of what she says or how many times she says it.

Gladys and Scomo jumped on Saint Mark, but if you watch the interview, he just said it is an option - and the national plan said lockdown might still be needed in extreme circumstance.
Gladys is giving the people of NSW false hope. The Doherty Instititute modelling made the assumption that the country opens up starting with a few cases (30 nationwide). Daily cases in NSW will continue increasing for weeks before the effect of vaccines kicks in. 2000 a day is possible. Unless they get serious, there will still be hundreds per day by the time 80% vaccination is reached. So opening up with 1 million unvaccinated in Sydney is likely to blow up in their faces. I expect a few other states will keep borders to NSW closed, just were waiting for Mark to say it first.

It's plenty different here (or there would be if I needed t leave our

The local Facebook page is full of bleats about how the shelves were
emptied and limits on buying certain items. Makes me wonder what is
wrong with people - didn't they see this coming at them like a giant
freight train and why hadn't they done a huge shop weeks ago?
