Good morning from Somerset.
60F and 1022mb. It is a fairly cloudy morning with a few blue patches,
and one has just coincided with the position of the sun and for the
first time today I see sunshine.

Best wishes to everybody.

Jim

Mornin' from a dry, warm, bright and sunny day here in South
Yorkshire. BYT has been here since dawn and striving to give us the
hottest day of the year so far. Temperature out there is 20.2C)
68.4F). Barometric pressure has steadied at 1021.1 mB with RH showing
as 50% and slowly falling. Forecast is for much the same for the rest
of the afternoon with the temperature to rise to 22C (71.6F) by-mid
afternoon. Overnight temperature will remain be above 10C (50F). Have
a great day everyone. Take care and stay safe not forgetting the
sun-screen cream if you're going out in the sun.
Sootie didn't venture out until around 09:00 after she'd
breakfasted. I was busy trying to work out why my hot water was only
just warm so missed Tabby when she arrived. I think a few may remember
when my immersion heater timer switch broke on a Christmas Eve evening
some years ago and left me without hot water for a fortnight over the
holiday period. I ended going to the local swimming pool to get a
shower. That wasn't very good either as they were only open about 2 - 3
days in the holiday fortnight. The timer is easy enough to replace and
easy enough to buy and pay for one. I got one 'Click and Collect' from
Screwfix before 10:00 this morning. They are less than 10. I've had 4
fail on me within the last 10 years, all with the same fault, ie. the
override switch easily breaks. They have dealt with this problem now by
stating that this particular mode is now 'Without override. But the new
one is identical to the one I had before with the override switch as
before and functioning, so I should only expect it to last 3-4 years
this time, unless I don't use the override which may be the best way
round it. My major problem is getting these aging small arthritic
fingers to manage to master the art of wiring up the device. It was
always a very fiddly job, and in the past I have had to resort to
getting an electrician to refit it for me. Unfortunately my 'tame'
electrician seems to have disappeared from the scene. Still should be
able to survive , as I managed to get a reasonable tepid bath first
thing. The only hot water available now is from my electric kettle or
a saucepan on the gas hob. Hey Ho !!! .
