I guess they will say they weren't civilians but were illegal enemy combatants which America insists are not protected people under the the rules of war.

I expect others will point out the hypocrisy in complaining when Russia does it while excusing America when they do the same. That it's hypocritical to pursue Russia for war crimes when America is never pursued for her war crimes.

Others will point to the Ukrainian government cheering when Ukrainian fascists have dragged pro-Russian supporters into the street, tied their hands, and put a bullet in their heads. Some will say it's hypocrisy to applaud that, encourage more of it, then complain when the tables are turned.

Others will probably claim it's false flag or made up shit, that there is no actual evidence of a Russian war crime, that it's just dressed-up to look that way, simply more anti-Russian propaganda.

We all know those who are anti-Russian, anti-Putin, will insist it is a war crime whether it was or wasn't. On the other side of the coin are those who will insist it wasn't.
