Indeed. It's not exactly hidden; more a publicly known 'dirty secret'.

Our government is on record in opposing regulations and laws which would reveal and stem the dirty dealing which London and others benefit from, the sources of ill-gotten gains, the people involved, the tangled web of shell companies designed to hide the flow of their money and investments, the laundering we assist with.

It's not just Russian oligarchs; it's anyone who has money to hide. As long as they have a lot of it and there's enough in what we skim off the top.

But have there ?

When the first sanctions were put in place people were amazed the government could find three oligarchs who weren't funding the Conservative party.

And the delay between those and the rest appear to have been designed to allow oligarchs to get their affairs in order, bury their assets, transfer their cash into third party hands. It was pretty much the biggest tip-off in history.

Of course there have been seizures but how much has been allowed to slip through the net ?

And how well have those seized from been compensated ? How many are not having anything seized because they are considered good oligarchs rather than bad ?

How much has been reported as seized which we are not entitled to seized ? How much is effectively being held in trust to be returned later ?

In fact, how much is being seized just to protect it from being seized by others who won't return it when the fuss has died down ?

Of course it does.

Johnson is a lying serial liar. He simply says what people want to hear then moves on, never doing what he has promised to do. He hopes we never check, forget about it, or excuse it.

Nothing he promised on Brexit has materialised. The money for the Health Service, the new hospitals, the nurses, the new infrastructure; all promises which have never materialised.

He said he wasn't going to erect a border in the Irish Sea, wasn't going to sell Northern Ireland down the river, then went ahead and did exactly that.

The list of Johnson's lies and deceits is pretty much endless.

No one should trust anything the lying serial liar says.

Exactly what our government believes and is willing to entertain. They will do whatever it takes to protect it.

And that includes lying about taking action, putting a stop to something, even when they aren't and have no intention of doing so.

Our government doesn't actually throw its rich friends under the bus.
