That last line is more a personal attack than an objective one but many people would agree.

Not all of course. There are plenty who would hold Johnson as being above the law because "he got brexit done" - even though he didn't really, or because he shares their rightwing political perspective.

They don't care about law-breaking, illegal acts, or serial lying, will excuse each and every one, simply because an alternative to Johnson wouldn't deliver them what they want.

Johnson can get away with murder so long as he's delivering what the rightwing wants.

Johnson himself doesn't give a shit, knows he has gotten away with it, knew that he would. Like the teflon-coated lying liar always does. He issues some insincere non-apology and simply moves on.

He is protected by his sycophantic party and those on the right who dutifully turn on anyone who dare criticise Johnson or what they want. It's pure "with us or against us". They are only going to jettison him when they consider him a liability rather than the means to their ends. As long as he does what they want they don't give a shit either; the ends justifies the means.
